How?
Use your waffle iron!
I found this little tip somewhere online and had to give it a shot. It being the middle of August, I will do anything to avoid using my oven.
I first searched for a super easy chocolate chip cookie recipe. I found one on VegWeb.com called Happy Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies. The recipe uses only
- flour – chocolate chips
- baking powder – sugar
- salt – vegetable oil
- vanilla – water
Couldn’t be simpler and I usually have all those ingredients on hand.
I plugged my waffle iron in before starting the cookie dough, so by the time the dough was ready it was hot.
The result?

Perfectly cooked chocolate chip cookies. The cookies only took a couple of minutes to bake. The entire process (making the dough and baking the cookies) took under 10 minutes.

The best part? I only baked a couple of cookies – automatic portion control. I wrapped up the rest of the dough

And stuck it in the freezer for next time.

Right next to my frozen banana slices (banana soft serve, anyone?) Come to think of it, banana soft serve might go verrrrry well on top of one of these cookies

I may never turn my oven on again.

I feel the SAME way about my waffle iron. It’s absolute love. Yours look INCREDIBLE!
I’ve heard you can also do french toast in one – may have to try that next!
Dude, WAFFLE COOKIES? I’m so in.

And because they are “waffles” it means they are OK for breakfast

That is such a great idea! I’m definitely going to try this soon!
Is it weird that I now want to buy a waffle iron, not for waffles, but for these cookies?!
