Saturday night was my 10 Year High School Reunion. What an old fart.
My mom wanted to take some pictures in the living room before I left. That was actually pretty cute, I felt like I was back in high school and going to a dance.

In case you actually care, the dress is from Free People, belt and burgundy tights are from Target, and the boots are from Payless. I’m no label snob, that’s for sure.
A few of my friends and I went out to dinner before heading to the reunion.
I had a couple dirty martinis. Um yeah, one would’ve been enough. Wow.

I really like green olives, though.

And a BBQ chicken salad minus the chicken. Actually very good.
After dinner we headed to the reunion, which was in a private room at a downtown hotel. I was a little surprised at the turnout – not very many people were there. My graduating class wasn’t all that big (it’s a private high school in Iowa), but I guess I was expecting a fairly decent showing. Quite a few people still live in town and didn’t even show up. I’m sure they had their reasons for not going, though and in the end it didn’t really matter because I had fun with the people that were there. And somehow I still didn’t get a chance to talk to half the people I wanted to. My bad. I blame the dirties. Have another…

I can’t even tell you what was going on in these pictures, but we were sure having fun -

After the reunion a couple of my girlfriends and I went to a few nearby bars and really felt like old fogies. Five years ago we would prance around those bars (in far skimpier clothes, no less) and know just about everyone. Yeah, not so much anymore. And we definitely paid for it on Sunday. Too much alcohol + too little sleep = one long drive back to Chicago. I’m glad I went, though. I always have a great time with my high school friends and wish I could see them more often.
So, if you haven’t had your high school reunion yet, my suggestion to you is to GO! I would’ve loved to have seen more people! There isn’t anyone I was wishing hadn’t shown up – I was only wishing more people had.
I’ll leave you with a picture of my awesome high school self. Yes, I was a cheerleader. And my hair has magically gotten blonder over the years. I have no idea how…

Your outfit is beyond great! Love it. I have very similar boots from Madden Girl that I just bought in black..love ‘em!
I didn’t go to my 10 year..it would have meant a flight from Cali to WI and I just wasn’t up for it.

I know, I think I thought I was old when I was like 22. Duh. And I’m sure when I’m in my 30s I’ll look back and be like, duh! And so on…
I always wanted to be a cheerleader in high school! Unfortunately, I did not have the tumbling abilities so I stuck to theater

Well I didn’t have the acting abilities so I stuck with cheerleading
You look soooo cute! Love the outfit! Glad you had a good time. The olives are my favorite part of martinis.

Thanks! Yeah, I debated about even trying it on, but once I did I fell in love! It’s one of those great dresses that can be dressed up or down, so I’m thinking I’ll get a lot of wear of out it.
remember when i found that giant button of you in your cheerleader outfit & i wore it on my backpack to classes freshman year? haha love it! glad you had fun at the reunion
[...] wore the same exact outfit that I wore to my high school reunion, so here’s a recycled pic from that night. [...]
