Hey-lo!
Alright, so Cara did this on her blog last week and I thought it was kind of neat getting a glimpse into someone else’s morning routine, so I’m doing it today. Here ya go -
My Morning Routine
- 7am(ish) – Maddux starts whining and crying to be let out of his crate. Get up, let him out, then open the blinds. Ahh, light!!
- Turn on the TV. Get in a few minutes of cuddle time with Maddux while watching the news and checking email on phone.
- Head to the bathroom. Brush teeth. Wash face. Throw hair up in a ponytail, or if it’s particularly wacked out, put on a hat.
- Head to bedroom closet. Get dressed – usually in yoga pants, a tank, and a hoodie. Search for matching socks for 5 minutes. Put on tennis shoes (soon to be boots, blah!).
- Leash up Maddux and go outside.
- Walk around for a while, let Maddy do his business.
- Come back inside. Feed Maddux.
- Make coffee, a K-Cup + almond milk + stevia.
- Make breakfast, whatever I’m feeling that day. Eat.
- 8am – walk over to desk, plant ass on cushy computer chair, and start working.
And that’s it! Exciting, huh? The only thing missing from my morning is a workout, but I’m just too damn lazy. I go after work instead (which is why I wait to shower, too – I’m a dirty bird). Ryan’s not mentioned because he’s already AT work before I even wake up. Poor guy.

I love reading about people’s morning routines! I get up between 5:30 and 6. Some mornings I workout and others I do chores or just lounge around and watch TV. I don’t have to be at work until 8 but I love getting things done in the morning. Its my most productive time. I normally don’t eat breakfast until I get to work.

I wish I was more productive in the mornings! And before I started working from home I would bring my breakfast to eat at the office, too.
I like these “routine” posts a lot…I feel like I get to know the blogger a lot better! My morning starts at 6:30-7. I usually take Sandy out and feed her right when I get up. Then I work out (only morning workouts for me!), shower, and eat breakfast by 8:30 am at work by 9:00!

I just cannot get the motivation to get my butt up to workout in the morning – I wish I would, it must be so nice to get it over with!

I’m the same way– working out in the morning is rarely an option for me. I just love breakfast and relaxing on my couch way too much

I’m jealous that you get to work from home! Mostly because you can wear yoga pants
I wake up at 5:45 (of 5:20 if I’m going to yoga), brush my teeth, shower, get dressed, eat and am out the door and off to work. I try to get to work between 7-7:30. So early!!

Ugh, that is early! And yeah, yoga pants are a HUGE bonus. And I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I almost (almost) miss dressing up for work, at least once in a while.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new blog design (you did re-design this correct? I am not going crazy am I? haha). My morning is very similar except I am up around 5 and I make myself go to the gym otherwise I’ll never make it there

Thank you so much!! Yes, I did change it up. I’m so indecisive and always itching to change it – so I’m just going to start changing it with the seasons and holidays. Creative outlet, haha
Your morning sounds pretty similar to mine – with the exception that I have to get on a train and go downtown to work. Boo. Must find a work from home job. I’m also trying to get up earlier and workout but it’s not going so well. There’s just something about being awake at 5am that doesn’t seem right to me.

Yeah, I’ve tried the morning workout thing, but just can’t make it stick. Plus, I prefer to take classes at the gym and all the good ones are after work.
Oh I wish I could work from home all the time! yoga pants and tshirt everyday… dont mind if I do!

mmm, working from home sounds pretty good! I would love to be in comfy clothes all day. I’m sure it has its downsides too, though. But the grass is always greener, huh?

Yeah, not gonna lie, it’s definitely awesome. However, I do work A LOT more. When I used to work at the office, the clock would hit 4pm and I’d be outta there. Not so much anymore. It’s harder to just turn off work, it’s always right there.
Great post idea! My morning routine is super quick, basically teeth brushing and getting dressed, as I shower the night before.

My routine consists of rolling out of bed and eating breakfast ASAP. Then sitting down to my laptop and getting some homework done

Dirty birds unite. It’s a common fact of all at-home workers…myself included. Showering is so much work! ha!
