Hey, Yo!
Let me tell you about dinner last night. We are low on groceries, so we decided to order out. I somehow convinced Ryan to get Native Foods. Seriously, I never thought the day would come that he would willingly eat vegan food. I mean, I couldn’t care less that he’s a meataholic, but if he eats a vegan/vegetarian meal I get to steal his food for once.
Ryan had the Chicago Dip Au Jus “Thinly sliced Native Peppered Seitan piled high on a freshly baked baguette smothered with our homemade giardiniera extraordinaire and au jus to dip real quick” On the side he had sweet potato fries.

And what did he think of it? Straight outta his mouth “This is really good.”
I’m not gonna say I told you so. But…I told you so.
I had the Greek Gyro Bowl “Our thinly sliced Native Peppered Seitan sauteed with shallots on quinoa, steamed vegetables, and kale with lemon garlic sauce and hummus. Served with grilled flatbread.” I had an order of steamed kale on the side (ooh, look at me all healthy and $hit).

Good stuff. Love me some Native Foods!
Moving on…
Tomorrow I am heading home to Iowa. I’m crazy excited to see my family and friends. Ryan’s doing Thanksgiving with his family, then driving to Iowa on the weekend. Maddypants is coming with me.
Speaking of Maddux coming with me, my brother and his wife are bringing their dogs and my sisters will have their dogs there as well.
Five dogs. There will be 5 dogs at my parents’ house over Thanksgiving. Plus 3 cats. And the cats hate the dogs. And the dogs want to chase the cats. Maddux will hunt down the litter box in search of “kitty cookies”.
Should be relaxing.
So anyway…
If I don’t catch ya before Thursday, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Have a great holiday, my dear!
I’ll keep the gym busy while you’re away.

I’ll have to try Native Foods the next time I’m in the city. Looks like great food and that’s awesome that Ryan thought it was really good!

I couldn’t help but comment, is that a Basenji?? We have one and think they are just the coolest little things, no barking… sounds perfect to me! Does your yodel?
Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!
Yes, Maddux is a Basenji!! Nope, he doesn’t yodel, does yours? He does make a lot of crazy sounds, though. I had a fabulous Thanksgiving – hope you did as well!
Yeah she does Yodel, if we make a really load noise over and over again she will start, it is so funny. Look up videos on YouTube- There is one that a guy put up of his 5 or 6 basenji’s yodeling at his cell phone ringer.
They are such cool dogs, we had a hard time with her at first, very hard to train but now she is perfect. We are two dogs, different kinds but would love to get another Basenji.
I’ve never had Native Foods but am thinking if it passed the boyfriend test in your house, it might pass the test in mine. I’ll let you know!
I hope you have a great time in Iowa! My parents’ house becomes dog central around the holidays too! It’s pure madness but so much fun. Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope it was as fun and chaotic as it sounds!
