Hey, hey! Happy Friday!
Anyone have any cool plans this weekend? I’m going to the Bulls’ game tomorrow afternoon. Should be a good time.
But before that…
I’ll have my usual Saturday morning routine of an early morning workout followed by grocery shopping. For me, Saturday morning grocery shopping involves stops at a minimum of 3 different grocery stores. Luckily, those three are located near each other, and with the lack of traffic that early, I can get it all done in an hour or so. Not bad. Not bad.
My first stop is Whole Foods Lincoln Park, otherwise known as Foodie Disneyworld. That place is insane and I could spend hours in there. If you go shopping in the morning you will see all of the customers doing their shopping with a coffee in hand. If you go shopping in the evening (or afternoon) you will see all of the customers doing their shopping with a glass of wine or beer in hand. It’s so yuppie and awesome.
My next stop is Stanley’s Fruit and Vegetable Market. You can walk out of there with two bags packed full of fruit and veggies for under 20 bucks. Case in point -

Raspberries – 49¢ a pack. Um, OK! Plus they sell packages of fresh herbs, like basil and mint super cheap. Oh, and massive bags of spinach. I eat a ton of vegetables, so this place is a gold mine for me.
Third stop is Treasure Island, solely for Ryan’s lunchmeat, though I’ll usually find a few other items I “need”.
Oh, and I still shop at Trader Joe’s, Costco, Mariano’s, and Jewel on occasion. In fact, I’m thinking about going to Trader Joe’s tonight. I haven’t been there in ages and I read they are selling chocolate stuffed French toast now. That plus some 2 Buck Chuck and I’ll be all set.
Grocery shopping – hate it or love it? I love it, obviously, or I probably would just go to Jewel and be done with it.
Do you shop at multiple grocery stores? I can only imagine my sister’s response to this, haha. (She has four kids, a husband, two cats, one dog, a house, a job, a blog, etc. etc.). I’m just an ass with too much time on my hands.

I got through almost the same routine when grocery shopping. I LOVE me some whole foods LP and stanley, those damn jimmy chips are a big weakness for me, and i love trader joe’s.
Happy friday lady

Wait, what are Jimmy Chips?? Have a great weekend, Zoe!
I really need to stop by Mariano’s one of these days. It’s SO close. But my grocery shopping is so routined (and I love it).

Yes, check it out! I like it better than Jewel and I think it’s even cheaper!
You are much more devoted grocery shopper than I… I take my husband in tow (cuts the time in half!) and try to buy everything at Whole Foods… except for wine and “treats” which we stock up on at Traeder Joe’s
Have a great weekend!

Trader Joe’s is the same for me – for wine and treats!
Oh, and have a great weekend, as well!!
I am always amazed that people in Chicago do not know about Stanley’s..I LOVE that place. They have organic produce for really really cheap sometimes! I just went there and blueberries are .99!!
And the WF in LP..oh jeez lol. I sometimes go at night and get a glass of wine while I shop with my friends..fun times.
Have the most AMAZING time at the Bulls game tomorrow..hopefully Rose plays!! I expect a full recap

No Rose on Saturday! I was bummed!
I am so jealous you have options! I’d kill for a Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, or that Stanley’s…whoa, awesome!
We have Hyvee.
And I’m too lazy to grocery shop, so my husband does 95%…I just text him my list. Ha!

Is it weird that I actually kinda miss Hyvee? And it’s not called being lazy, it’s called being busy!!
I usually just hit up one place a week because I’m super lazy and after being at work all day, I dont want to be around more people at the market! But my two go-to stores are Harris Teeter and Trader Joes.
I hear ya, that’s why my fav time to go is as soon as they open – don’t have to deal with other people
I loathe grocery shopping for that reason but it’s a necessity. And then I eat everything in sight! Have a good weekend!

I’m super lazy when it comes to groceries so I hit up one to get it done at once. However, if I ever make my way over to Whole Foods, I could spend literally hours in there. It’s like Heaven for foodies!

I know. I not only spend too much time just wandering around WF, but I spend waaay too much $!
I love grocery shopping. It’s a sick obsession really. I think the people at Trader Joe’s know me by name. My boyfriend, on the other hand, hates it. Which is a problem because he’s the one with the car. So I try to keep our trips to one or two stores for his sanity’s sake.

Ha, my boyfriend hates it too. I just take his car and go by myself
My family owns a small chain of grocery stores, so I get half my groceries there, and the other half at Whole Foods. There is some produce I like to eat organic and we don’t carry organic stuff. Yet!

Haha – I can see you trying to influence them to carry organic
