Change Up!

I mixed it up a bit yesterday! Starting with breakfast.

Another parfait, but this time I added peanut butter. Coconut milk vanilla yogurt with peanut butter, banana, chia seeds, and oats.

Coffee + almond milk.

At lunchtime I took Maddux on a walk. It was 99°. We walked one block and he decided to lay down in the middle of the sidewalk. Done. So we went home and I decided to use the rest of my lunch break for a workout – in our building’s workout room. I haven’t been in there in months, I almost always go to the gym to do classes.  I should really utilize it more often, it’s nothing fancy but it has everything I need (gosh, I really have NO excuse not to workout!).

Treadmill (the bike, elliptical, and stair stepper are less than stellar).

Exercise balls, bands, and mats.

Free weights and some other various weight-lifting equipment.

Hi!!! Hehe. I hit the treadmill for 30 minutes at 6.5 mph. Ok, typically that is not too difficult a run for me. Oh man, was it hard yesterday. I blame the heat. The workout room doesn’t have the best air conditioning. Someone added a little oscillating fan – see it in the pic? Yeah, doesn’t really get the job done. I was, quite possibly, the sweatiest I’ve ever been. Drenched.

I wasn’t hungry at all after my workout so I didn’t eat until mid-afternoon. Nothing even sounded good, so I ended up making a lunch fit for a 5 year old.

Peanut butter and jelly toast with a side of applesauce. And it was darn good.

After work, I met up with my bff to get mani/pedis. Yes, I just got a pedicure last Saturday, but we had YouSwoops to use up and I did really need a manicure. The mani/pedis were fantastic, we caught up on gossip, and we sipped on some of this…

The salon was BYOB. You better believe we took advantage of that!

When I got home, I was starving and in no mood to cook, so I threw together a quick dinner.

Two tortillas topped with hummus, spinach, and Frank’s RedHot Sauce. A sliced apple on the side. I was really craving some ice cream, so I made the next best thing – peanut butter banana soft serve.

1 frozen banana + 1 tablespoon peanut butter blended in the food processor, then topped with vegan chocolate chips.

And that’s all she wrote!
