FXB: Week 1
One week down, nine to go! Here are my thoughts on the first week -
Workouts:
Loving them! I’m genuinely excited to go to class each day. I like kickboxing the most. I’ve taken kickboxing at my regular gym, but it’s totally non-contact, so it’s not nearly as intense or as much fun. Wearing gloves and hitting/kicking the bags is so much better. The cool thing about the workouts is that even though we have men and women of all shapes, sizes, ages, and fitness levels, everyone gets a great workout. It’s all about what you put into it. I’m definitely trying to give my all to each and every workout. They are only 45 minutes long, so every minute counts.
Nutrition:
Following the nutrition plan hasn’t been too difficult. I didn’t follow it perfectly, but overall I think I did pretty darn well for my first week. During the workday it’s been super easy for me to follow. It’s night that gets me. I’m so used to snacking the night away (usually mindlessly eating cereal in front of the TV). I’m thinking it will get easier, though as I get used to eating this way. I’m actually having fun coming up with lots of mini meal ideas. Oh, and I don’t know why I thought that drinking the 80oz of water every day would be challenging. It’s not! I just have to be conscious of it throughout the day. I think it’s also been helping me not get as hungry. Here are some of my recent mini meals and the estimated nutritional stats -

Onto Week 2!

Ok I think I’m a little behind or pregnancy brain has gotten to me. What’s FXB?..

Glad you’re really liking it, I think contact kick-boxing would be really fun as well! I only kickbox at the gym the same way you mentioned.
That yogurt looks delicious.

This is inspiring for sure ~ so are you paying for this program in addition to your gym membership? That’s always been my hesitation, b/c I’d hate to pay for an additional program that’s not worth it. If this has your endorsment though…

Yeah, I’m still paying for my regular gym membership, too. It’s cheaper to keep it than to cancel and pay a new initiation fee in a couple of months. My gym is cheap anyway, I think I’m only paying like $35/month. I actually haven’t really decided what I’m going to do when the program is over, I believe there is a maintenance program you can join once you’ve completed the 10 week program. I’m liking this program a lot more than my regular gym, so we’ll see what happens. I’ll continue to keep you posted on how I’m liking it and the results it brings!
Those eggs look great! I also love shiratake noodles. Can’t wait to get back into kickboxing after I run my marathon on Sunday!

Wow! Good luck with the marathon!!
That’s awesome that you are actually liking your fitness program – nothing is worse than trying to stick to a program you absolutely dread doing!
I love kickboxing as well..I dont think I sweat more at any other group fitness class haha

Oh man, it would be brutal if I didn’t like it. 10 weeks would seem like forever…
how many calories per day are you taking in? curious…seems so low!
I probably should have posted some better examples! The ones above are on the extreme low end calorie-wise of what I’ve been eating – some of my other meals are closer to 500. Gotta work on balancing them out a little better!
